Borneo Waste Industries Sdn. Bhd. is a Sabah based waste management service provider that was established in November 2013. It has offices in Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Borneo Waste Industries was awarded a 30 years concession to develop and operate the Integrated Waste Management Processing Plant at the Kayu Madang Sanitary Landfill in Telipok, Sabah from April 2018 to April 2048. The Kayu Madang Sanitary Landfill is the central disposal site for waste from Kota Kinabalu, Kota Belud, Penampang, Putatan and Tuaran.

Borneo Waste Industries aims to design, finance, build and operate  the Integrated Waste Processing Plant capacity to process up to 800 tonnes per day  of municipal solid waste which includes electronic – waste, construction and demolition waste and used tyres.  The Integrated Waste Management Processing Plant will be occupying 20 acres within the 115 acre Kayu Madang Sanitary Landfill boundary. Development of the Integrated Waste Management Processing Plant is divided into two phases, Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 encompasses Base Facilities which includes the material recovery facilities, anaerobic digestion  plant, recovered plastics plant, bottled compressed natural gas  plant, e-waste recycling centre and refuse derived fuel pellet plant. Phase 1 also includes the construction and the operation of an organic fertiliser plant. Phase 2 consists of the expansion of organic fertiliser plant and installation of rooftop solar panels.

PENAMPANG: The launching of a mobile recycling centre here will serve as a platform to create awareness on sustainable waste management. Friends of Village Development (Tonibung) director Adrian Lasimbang said about 40 per cent of rubbish can be recycled before it is discarded into the Kayu Madang landfill in Telipok. He added that despite efforts from the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) and other non-governmental organisations to encourage waste segregation and offer payments for recyclable items, efforts have been futile.
